- Who is the controller of my data?
The data controller of your personal is LC Publishing Group S.p.A., with registered office in Via L. Tolstoj 10 – 20146 Milano (MI) (hereinafter, “LC“).
- How and for what purposes are my data processed?
Your personal data will be processed, both by automated means and manually, to enable you to register to the event on the web site www.legalcommunityweek.com (hereinafter, the “Website”) and participate in the event (the “Event”). The processing is carried out, as the case may be, in execution of agreement between LC and you or your company/law firm/organisation or your specific request prior to reaching such an agreement or, in any event, to enable you to participate in the Event (art. 6, co. 1, let. b) of the EU Regulation 2016/679 – the “Regulation“).
- What categories of data are processed and how are they collected?
In order to enable you to participate in the Event, we will process your identification data (first name, last name, company/law firm/organisation, email address), which have been communicated to us by your company/law firm/organisation or directly by you if you register for the Event via the Website.
- Is the provision of data mandatory or optional?
The provision of your personal data when attending or registering for the Event is optional but necessary as you will not be able to attend the Event without it. The provision of any other personal data is completely optional and will only be used for marketing purposes; however, if you wish to give your consent to the processing of your e-mail address for marketing purposes and/or to allow it to be communicated to third parties, the provision of your e-mail address is necessary in order to receive the requested communications and the provision of your first name and surname is necessary in order to facilitate the reading of your handwritten signature.
- Will photographs and audio/video recordings be taken during the Event? For what purpose?
Yes, both photographs and audio/video recordings (collectively the “Recordings“) will be made during the Event. The Recordings will be published on the Website and other website of the Company, in the Company’s magazine “MAG”, in the LC Newsletter and on LC’s social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube for the legitimate interest of reporting on the Events (art. 6, co. 1, let. f) of the Regulation). Please do not participate in the Events if you do not wish to appear in the Recordings under any circumstances. This is without prejudice to your right to object to the publication of the Recordings in the case of individual interviews by making a request orally to the interviewer or in writing to the recording staff, or to request their subsequent removal by contacting us using the methods indicated in paragraph 13 below.
- Will my data be used for marketing purposes?
With your optional consent (art. 6, co. 1, let. a) of the Regulation), we will process your data for marketing purposes (direct sales, sending of advertising material, market research and commercial communications) and to send you promotional communications by e-mail relating to other events organized by the Company and/or to products or services offered by us. Failure to consent will not affect your right to participate in the Event. You may freely withdraw your consent at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in any promotional email or by sending a request by post or email to the addresses set out in paragraph 13 below.
- How long will my information be kept?
Your details will be kept for 5 years, unless further retention is necessary for the additional purposes set out in the following policy. Your image and voice in the Recordings will be retained for as long as the Recordings are published on the channels referred to in paragraph 5 above. Data processed for marketing purposes will be stored until you exercise your right to object to such processing. Contractual and billing data will be kept for 10 years.
- Who can access my data?
Your personal data may be disclosed to the following subjects: our employees and collaborators involved in the organisation of the Event and/or marketing activities, as well as external suppliers who provide us with data processing services for the management of the information system and telecommunications networks; persons who carry out control, audit and certification activities; accountants for accounting and tax compliance; consultants; companies providing marketing services; IT service providers and other support and management service providers.
- Will my data be shared with or disclosed to third parties?
Without prejudice to the provisions of paragraph 5 in relation to the use of Recordings and paragraph 10 in relation to the possibility of sharing your data to our partners for marketing purposes, your personal data will not otherwise be communicated or disseminated to third parties. However, please note that: (i) when you register for the Event, you will be provided with an identification badge (with your name, surname and organisation) which you may choose to wear during the Event, thereby making your identity known; (ii) in the event of contractual or legal breaches or in cases provided for by law, your data may be communicated to the police and judicial authorities.
- Will my data be shared with third parties for marketing purposes?
With your optional consent (art. 6, co. 1, let. a) of the Regulation), we will communicate your data (name, surname, e-mail, copy of the consent form) to our partners who are sponsoring the Event you intend to attend, as indicated in the invitation you received or in the promotional material relating to the Event, or to other subjects operating in the following sectors, so that they can send you their offers, promotions and commercial proposals by e-mail: Companies operating in the automotive industry, banks and financial service providers, law firms, companies operating in the media and telecommunications industry, recruitment agencies, publishers and distributors of publishing products, companies operating in the IT industry, companies operating in the fashion, jewellery and luxury goods industry (hereinafter referred to as “Partners“), so that they can send you their offers, promotions and commercial proposals by e-mail. If you do not give your consent, this will in no way affect your right to participate in the Events. You may withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, by sending a request by post or e-mail to the addresses indicated in paragraph 13 below, or by contacting the Partners to whom your data has been communicated directly, using the contact details indicated in the privacy policy they will provide you with.
- What are my rights?
You may exercise the following rights referred to in Articles 15 to 22 of the Regulation: the right of access to personal data (i.e. the right to obtain from us confirmation as to whether data concerning you are being processed and, if so, access to the personal data, to obtain a copy thereof and to obtain the information referred to in Article 15 of the Regulation) and the right of rectification (i.e. the right to obtain the rectification of inaccurate data concerning you or the completion of incomplete data) or erasure (i.e. the right to obtain the erasure of personal data concerning you for one of the reasons listed in Article 17 of the Regulation) or the restriction of the processing that concerns you (i.e. the right to obtain, in the cases indicated by art. 18 of the Regulation, the identification of the data stored with a view to limiting their processing in the future), as well as the right to data portability (i.e. the right, in the cases provided for by art. 20 of the Regulation, to obtain from us the data concerning you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, as well as to freely communicate such data to another data controller). You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent prior to withdrawal.
- Does the Regulation also recognise my right to object to processing?
Yes, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you under Article 6(1)(e) or (f) of the Regulation, including profiling based on these provisions. Where personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for such marketing purposes, including profiling, insofar as it is related to such direct marketing.
- How can I exercise my rights?
