Mario Abbadessa arrived in Hines in 2010. He has been responsible for all the Group’s activities in Italy since 2015 and is currently the Senior Managing Director and Country Head of Hines Italy. Since then, he has successfully completed real estate investments for around 2 billion euros. He was previously Fund Manager and the first member of the Hines Italia SGR Investment Team. Mario started his career at Tishman Speyer and was Investment Analyst at Generali Immobiliare Italia SGR for two years, before joining Hines. Mario earned his degree in Business Administration at the Bocconi University and a master’s degree in Real Estate Finance at the University of Amsterdam.

Guido has a Degree in Economics (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan) and a Master’s Degree in Corporate Tax Law. He began his career at Andersen Legal in 1990 and continued his practice in Ernst & Young Tax department since 1999. Later he moved to the firm’s New York office. From 2003 until 2017 he worked for Fantozzi & Associati in Milan, where he was a Partner. He founded LED Taxand with Alfredo Fossati in 2018. Guido has over 30 years’ experience advising Italian and large multinationals and institutional investors on a wide range of tax matters. He focuses on private equity transactions, including acquisition finance and real estate finance. Guido also has an extensive experience in international tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and reorganisations. He has a strong competence in the area of tax disputes litigations and Mutual Agreement Procedures.

Luca Arnaboldi, the Managing Partner of Carnelutti Studio Legale Associato, has been with the firm since the beginning of his career. His practice focuses on complex M&A and finance transactions, including within the real estate and media sectors. Luca is also a registered Chartered Accountant and a reserve officer with Italy’s Guardia di Finanza. He has held and still holds directorships or supervisory board positions with several public and private Italian and international companies. Isabella Bdoian Gonzalez, a seasoned international corporate lawyer, is since 2016 the Director of Ethics & Compliance for EMEA of Whirlpool Corporation, the world’s leading major home appliance company, where she developed and implemented a risk-based, award-winning corporate compliance programme to promote a culture of business integrity and values-driven performance. Before that, she had a 17-year career with Coca-Cola HBC, a premium FTSE 100 beverage company, starting as head of the Russian legal department, eventually becoming the Group Legal Director, Strategic Sourcing and Compliance, based in Milan. She speaks fluently four languages and regularly holds conversations in two others. Isabella graduated in international law at the Lomonosov Moscow State University in Russia, before earning an LL.M. in European Business Law with the Pallas Programme in the Netherlands and a P.G. Dip. in Competition law at London’s King’s College.

Paolo Bottelli is a Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kryalos SGR S.p.A.,  an independent Real Estate  AIFMD Regulated Fund Management Firm based in Milan, with a team of 56professionals. Kryalos SGR is one of the most active players in the Italian real estate market and actually manages € 5.5bn of assets. Paolo is also Chairman and CEO of several real estate companies and Board Member of Assoimmobiliare. Before founding Kryalos, Paolo worked for 18 years in Milan listed Pirelli Real Estate, where he joined in 1994. During his career he mainly focused on advisory and management services in the Italian market and from 2009 he has been responsible for the global investment and asset management business of the group, working from the Hamburg headquarter. Paolo resigned as Chief Executive Officer in 2012. Prior to Pirelli, Paolo worked in Knight  Frank, in Deutsche Bank Leasing and has also served as Board Member of the department store la Rinascente. Mr. Bottelli studied  Political Sciences at the Università degli Studi in Milan. In December 2018 Paolo Bottelli was honored with the title of “Cavaliere dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana” by the President of the Italian Republic.

Nicolas Burgener is Group Head of the legal function at Audemars Piguet Group, a fine watch-making manufacturer and retailer. He manages and supervises the Group Legal Affairs Department (made of 10 employees) and he is a Member of the Group Executive Committee. His main focus areas include Mergers & Acquisitions, corporate law, competition law, intellectual property, sponsoring, distribution and legal compliance. Massimo Campioli, is the Chief Financial Officer of M-I Stadio, the company jointly controlled by A.C. Milan and Inter F.C. football clubs that owns San Siro stadium. Prior to this Mr. Campioli, who graduated in Economic Sciences, has served for more than twenty years as A.C. Milan CFO. He has matured a broad experience in financial control and accounting and since 2009 is Vice-President of ANDAF, the Italian association of chief financial and administrative officers. Founded fifty years ago, ANDAF (Associazione Direttori Amministrativi e Finanziari) has more than 1.600 members to whom offers a wealth of research and professional development activities, seminars and roundtables as well as technical events. Pavo Djedović, a partner at LeitnerLeitner since 2006, is an auditor and tax advisor with around 27 years of experience. He is specialized in international tax law and corporate tax law with special focus on Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has been engaged in international M&A and restructuring transactions, as well as tax planning projects, i.e. tax optimized structuring after reorganizations. Before taking on the leadership of Deloitte Legal, Carlo gained many experiences both in the professional and managerial fields, developing an in-depth knowledge of the dynamics of management of corporate offices and relations with authorities, legal functions, and internal corporate compliance. A lawyer specialized in corporate, M&A and equity capital markets, Carlo worked for over 13 years at prestigious national and international practices, providing his assistance in numerous and significant extraordinary transactions until 2012, the year in which he left the profession to join Banca Popolare di Milano (now Banco BPM) where he was appointed General Counsel and Chairman of WeBankS.p.A. and Board Member of Banca AkrosS.p.A. and Banca Popolare di MantovaS.p.A. Carlo has contributed to the restructuring and relaunch of the banking group, taking care of corporate governance, capital strengthening operations, relations with the authorities and, finally, relations with the European Central Bank and asset quality review activities. At the end of 2014, he was appointed partner and general counsel for Investindustrial, where he followed the fund’s operations and sat on the board of directors of the companies in the portfolio. In 2018 he joined Deloitte Legal as a partner of the firm.

Alexandre Marcotte is Group Director of Legal for Commercial at AkzoNobel based in the Netherlands. His previous experience includes working at global companies, such as Saint-Gobain and Volkswagen. Before holding his current role, Alexandre Marcotte was director legal for AkzoNobel’s decorative paint branch where he managed globally renowned brands such as Dulux, Sikkens and Hammerite. Over his career Alexandre has had a number of highlights, perhaps his most inventive implementation so far is the ‘set-up and the roll-out of a competition law face-to-face program, tailor-made for different businesses and targets (employees working for sales, marketing, procurement and market intelligence departments)’. He is furthermore credited for his handling of the recall of a colossal number of products, meeting the high expectations of senior management while at the same time retaining their position on the market. In this situation he played a key role in identifying risks and reviewing agreements with a creative mind-set in order to avoid damage pay-outs, all managed in a multi-jurisdictional environment. Alexandre is similarly commended on his redefinition of legal responsibilities amongst his legal team at AkzoNobel in order to adhere to the global nature of company. In conjunction, he has also introduced increased communication with stakeholders and implemented a legal operations department to put technologies and development at the core of AkzoNobel’s legal department. He places great importance on partnering with business and function in order to be successful in-house.

Giorgio Martellino is currently the General Counsel and Compliance Officer of Avio, a leading company in the space propulsion, listing on the STAR segment of the Italian Stock Exchange. Thanks to this current experience as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and member of Compliance Committee 231 of Avio, he improved his skills in compliance matters leading projects on anticorruption and risk management. Mrs. Mori is Data Privacy Officer (DPO) Europe at Coca-Cola. Prior to her nomination as DPO in May 2018, she was GC Europe at Coca-Cola. She also has been appointed President of Valore D, the first association of companies formed in Italy to support women’s leadership in the corporate world. Sandra Mori attended the University of Pisa where she obtained her law degree in 1989.  She then completed her education at the Yale Law School in New Haven, Connecticut, attending a one-year master program in international law. For 10 years, she worked in private practice in several law firms in both Italy and the US, working in the sector of M&A and intellectual property, with particular regard to the IT sector.  In 1999, she joined Microsoft Corp. as Director of Legal Affairs in Southern Europe.  In this position, she was responsible, among other things, of all antipiracy activities.  In 2001, she joined The Coca-Cola Company as Region Counsel for Italy and then as Division Counsel for the Italy and Alpine Division.  Thereafter, she held positions of increasing responsibility within the legal corporate function of The Coca-Cola Company, including that of M&A counsel for Europe, Eurasia, and the Middle East and senior operations counsel for the EU Group.

He attended also a Master in Corporate Taxation at Scuola Polizia Tribuataria Guardia di Finanza in cooperation with Bocconi University, Milan (October 2001/July 2003) and is admitted to the Bar (Italian Attorney). In January 2017, he joined TIM as General Counsel and Head of Legal Affairs. From December 2017 to March 2018 he was also appointed, ad interim, Head of Human Resources and Organization Department. Since March 2018 he is General Counsel, Head of Legaland Tax . He also holds the position of Secretary to the Board of Directors and is member of the BoDs of several subsidiaries among which two listed companies, in Italy and in Brasil. From July 2016 to January 2017, he held the position of General Counsel, Operational Director and Secretary of the Board of Directors in Italmobiliare S.p.A. From May 2006 for 10 years, he workd in Italcementi Group, starting as Head of Tax and adding progressively several responsibility up to the position of Group General Counsel, Legal, Tax and Compliance Director. From July 1986 to May 2006. he served in Guardia di Finanza (Bergamo) where he started as officer cadet at the Military Academy (1986-90). During his career he was in charge of managing and supervising the daily activities and inspections for the purpose of combating tax and finance criminal activities as well as training of military cadet and other personnel in the Academy, lately assigned both to national and international units and operations. In the last appointment he served as Lieutenant Colonel, Head of Analysis and Studies within the Commanding General.

Senior Compliance Officer, Banque du Liban

Ghada Sabbagh works as a Senior Compliance Officer at the Compliance Unit of the Central Bank in Beirut, Lebanon.   She is in charge of supervising the work of Banks, Financial Institutions and other regulated entities in the field of compliance. She is a holder of a BA in Private law from the University of Holy Spirit in Lebanon, and went on to receive a DEA in Public law from the same institution in partnership with University Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, France.  She also received her LLM in international Law from the University of Minnesota law School, USA. Sabbagh is a member of the Beirut Bar Association since 2005 and has worked in various prestigious law firms in Lebanon and in the United States such as Levant law firm in Lebanon and Dorsey and Whitney LLP, Minneapolis, USA. Prior to joining the Banque du Liban, Me. Sabbagh worked for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington D.C. on topics related to Islamic Banking Resolution and Taxation. Recently, she has been involved in monitoring and ensuring the effective implementation of Data Protection regulations (i.e. GDPR, US Cloud Act and the Lebanese Data Protection law No. 81) by the relevant regulated entities. 

CINO ZUCCHI

Born in Milano in 1955, Cino Zucchi has earned degrees in Architectural Design at M.I.T. and at the Politecnico di Milano, where he is currently Chair Professor. He has taught in many international design workshops and has been a John T. Dunlop Visiting Professor at the GSD of Harvard University. Author of several articles and books on matters of architectural and urban theory, he  participated to various editions of the Milano Triennale and of the Venice Biennale of Architecture, where he has been the curator of the Italian Pavilion in 2014. He has been the chairman of the jury of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies Award 2015.

Together with his studio CZA he has designed and realized several projects, among which the ex-Junghans factory site in Venice, the ex-Alfa Romeo-Portello Nord area and of the Corte Verde in Milano, the Keski Pasila master plan in Helsinki, the Car Museum and the Lavazza HQ in Turin, the Salewa HQ in Bozen.

ANGELINO ALFANO

He joined BonelliErede as Of Counsel in July 2018, after having carried out an important academic and institutional career. His past institutional activities include: from 1994-1997 Councilor of the Regional Province of Agrigento, from 1996-2001 Member of the Sicilian Regional Assembly and from 2001-2018 Member of the Chamber. From 2008-2018 he was Minister in three different governments: Minister of Justice, Minister of the Interior and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He was the longest-serving minister in Italian history. He served as Deputy Prime Minister between 2013 and 2014. He was a member of the Council of the European Union for the Justice and Internal Affairs sectors and during the 2014 Italian presidency semester, he chaired the Council of the European Union for Internal Affairs. In May 2009, he chaired the G8 Justice in Rome, in 2013 the G6 Interior Ministers and in 2017 the G7 Foreign Ministers, as well as the UN Security Council. Since 2013, he has been the president of the Fondazione De Gasperi. During his long career as a minister he was a promoter or speaker of several bills including the laws for harsh imprisonment of the mafia and the ability of the State to seize criminal assets. He created the Codice Antimafia, which unified all related previous legislation into one. In 2010 he proposed the text that was approved by parliament to reform the code of civil procedure effectively launching the electronic civil trial procedure to be a “filter” for the Supreme Court and the institute of civil mediation and allow for widespread reduction in delays of civil trials. He proposed the decree that was passed into law to prevent and combat international terrorism. He is the promoter of the law against stadium violence that has introduced new types of crime and new organizational measures of sports venues. He proposed and approved the decree that introduced the crime of Stalking and strengthened the measures to combat gender violence. He is the author of scientific articles in specialized magazines, such as New Commentary Civil Law and European and Private Law. Over his career Alexandre has had a number of highlights, perhaps his most inventive implementation so far is the ‘set-up and the roll-out of a competition law face-to-face program, tailor-made for different businesses and targets (employees working for sales, marketing, procurement and market intelligence departments)’.
